The Halloween Show
Ghosts, Zombies & Monsters!

Show off your best Halloween art. Go spooky, go silly, go scary, just go go go p, draw, sculpt or design and celebrate the great fun that is Halloween! Submissions are due for this show by 8pm October 3rd. This show will kick off with a costume party October 4th at 7pm.

Left, Right, Middle: Politics in America
The Election Season Heats Up!

Express your viewpoint this election year, as Alex Ross does here with his Obama painting. Join us for "Right, Left, Middle: Politics in America" and submit your political art. Please email Ed Dansart or Kimberly for guidelines on this show before submitting. Submission deadline Oct. 29th. This show comes complete with a mock debate and election, featuring a few of your favorite comic book heroes and opens with a reception on Nov. 1st from 7-9 pm.

Nuclear Winter
Sci-Fi & Futuristic Fun!

This winter we delve into Sci-Fi Art and examine the future and our place in it! submissions for this show must be received by December 1st. "Nuclear Winter" opens with a reception Sat., December 6th from 7-9pm.

Comics&Classics+eb5k...

Sweet! I have become the official art guru/goon/consultant at C+C!

That means I get to brainstorm theme ideas for group shows and recruit artists for solo shows. Its going to be a great learning experience. I have already met some great artists setting up the last show. The next show will be the Halloween group show. October 4th. More info on this show will posted here and at the Outer Box very soon.

Pics of the ICON show!

Thanks to all the folk who came out to Comics&Classics first group show. This was the biggest turnout for an opening yet! We had a very diverse range of styles and characters represented. Surprisingly, there was not as many batman related characters as I thought. The exhibit will be up throughout August. I will be putting up more info on the artists and their work throughout the month.

August show at C&C...

Anyone who has a soft spot in their heart for video game and comic book characters, this is the show for you. Any game or comic character in your own style. The show is open to any style or medium. This will be the store's first group exhibit. The show opens Saturday night August 2nd and will featured all month. The deadline will be the last weekend in July.

Comics&Classics July Featured Artist: Rob Jones

"The Girls of Summer" will kick off Saturday night July 5th. Rob has a very polished, clean style to his drawings and character design. I'm a huge fan of pin-up and good girl art and am looking forward to the opening. Check out the Comics and Classics link to the right for more info.


Here's a little more about Rob from the Alpha Cat website:

"Rob is the creator, co-writer and artist on Perfect Storm. He been working in comics for 7 years as a penciler, inker, colorist, writer and letterer for companies like Heroic Publishing, Students of the Unusual, and MoonStone Books. For the past 5 years, Rob has been an assistant to industry veteran Dick Giordano, and together they have produced work for DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Top Cow Comics, and Egmont Publishing.
Rob serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Alpha Cat Comics."

Corporate Invasion Pics...

The Corporate Invasion opening was a hit! The turnout was great with 4 paintings and about 10 or so prints being sold. Thanks to all who came out for the reception. The work will be up for the whole month of June. Stop by Comics and Classics and check'em out! www.comicsandclassics.com for more details. The Spinner Rack interviewed Bo and I and took some pics. I will be sure to post more info as soon as I get it. Special thanks to the C&C crew for all their help putting this show together. Lots of cool shows in the works, check back soon!

Corporate Invasion!

Art show in a comic store... This appeals to me on so many levels. The fine folks at Comics and Classics will be hosting Bo and I's first two man show: Corporate Invasion! Bo has done these businessman aliens and creatures before. I figured, thats a good theme for an art show. Using our tried and true formula of Bo=monsters and Ed=robots, we decided to go ahead and plan it. I passed the idea to Kim at C+C and she let us have June. Whats cool is that our work will be on display the whole month! The opening reception will be on Saturday June 7th from 7PM-9PM. There will be more details to come.
